FIRST ANNUAL TRANSGENDER
SHOPPING & DONATION DAY

You are invited to join your transgender sisters and brothers, and all who support the transgender community for a fun day of shopping. At the end of the day, we will meet together to donate some of our purchases to an agency that provides services primarily to low income battered women.

WHEN: Saturday, Nov 15th, 10:00 am thru 4:00 pm

WHERE: Westfield Shoppingtown Fashion Square (formerly the Sherman Oaks Fashion Square) located near the intersection of Woodman and Riverside Drive in Sherman Oaks.

SHOPPING: Participants are encouraged to shop at the Westfield Shoppingtown Fashion Square, however shopping could also be done at other nearby malls such as the Glendale Galleria, Northridge Fashion Center or the Topanga Plaza mall.

DONATION: At 3:00 pm, participants are asked to gather in the <Location removed for web security. Please email the event coordinator for location.> to meet with a representative from Rainbow Services and present as a donation some of their purchases.

The following is a list of items that would benefit the low income battered women clients of Rainbow Services:

  • Bathrobes and slippers
  • Sweaters and jackets (Sizes “medium” and “large” for clothing preferred.)
  • Purses/tote bags
  • Shoes/socks
  • Sleepwear
  • Wrist watches
  • Manicure kits
  • Hair dryers
  • Shampoo/lotions
  • Sanitary napkins/tampons

NOTES:

  • We will "do lunch" at the Westfield Shoppingtown Fashion Square Food Court about Noon. No formal meeting, just lunch.
  • No events are planned after the donation. However, time will be made available during the donation formalities for those who would like to organize evening activities.
  • "Big Sisters" will be available to shop with those who might not be comfortable with mainstream outings. Visit the Food Court at Noon or email the coordinator.
